Since then, the company has grown through the policy of low sales. The store serves more than 200 million customers every week. It has more than 8,159 retail units which operate under 55 different banners in 15 countries (Wal-Mart, 2009). In 2009, the company realized sales worth $401 billions. The company has a large workforce employing more than 2.1 million associates in its global operation (Parnell and Lester, 2008).
