The use of vaccination to fight common and fatal infections has become a contemporary practice. The major steps achieved by use of vaccines in bolstering immunity system of an individual are not contestable. The inclusion of immunization into the requirement for admission of children to school could be a major facet in ensuring that spread of some diseases is controlled. In the US some states have policies which make a mandatory practice to immunize children against the common diseases including mumps, influenza, lock jaw, meningitis and measles among others. Some of these infections are not clinically treatable and have debilitating effects on the victims in the absence of the vaccines.
