There is less literature and research about transformative experience in the tourism and hospitality industry. It is a new paradigm in the tourism and hospitality sector as researchers and industry players seek to understand how tourism and hospitality goods and services can be used to improve or transform people’s lives. According to Reisinger (2013) there are different types of tourism which have the potential to help transform people and develop a better world. Reisinger (2013) listed them as educational, volunteer, community based, backpacking, pilgrimage, spiritual among others.
