John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on May 29th, 1917 to Rose Kennedy and Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. at Brookline Massachusetts he went on to become a member of the Democratic Party as it was the tradition of his family. As a Democrat, he first became a political leader by being elected to the United States House of Representatives at Massachusetts and later to the United States Senate. JFK as he was commonly referred to started on the political front in Massachusetts from 1947 to 1960 serving on the above-mentioned positions until he ran for the United States presidential seat on a democrat ticket where he narrowly beat the Republican candidate Richard Nixon who was the incumbent vice president.
