In Chinese traditional tea culture, tea service is conceived as an art that includes different interactive elements together making a ceremony for the guest and the host. This means that in setting up a tea shop, it is important to consider all the basic elements that make up the tea ceremony. It is a ceremony in which the tea, water, utensils, preparation, environment, and conversation that goes on creates a perfect moment for the occasion (Peltier, 2011). The experiences is not only created by the tea served, but also by a skilled tea preparer and pourer who creates the moment without standing in the middle. The moment is further enhanced by the fragrance and the taste of tea. Bringing this traditional conceptualization of the tea ceremony to blend with modernity requires a lot of skills to ensure that the traditional essence of tea ceremony are preserved and at the same time the modernity is well integrated.
