Death penalty is the capital punishment granted by a given government to persons who have done dreadful crimes such as rape, homicide and others. Death penalty has been a means of punishing persons over ages. Currently there are countries which have done away with such penalty from their constitional law. Consequently there are also many countries which still do practice the action of taking a person’s life because of crime. Such capital punishment is rampant in the United States, Asian and the Middle East countries. Death penalty is executed to criminals by way of hanging, electrocution, lethal injection and shooting. Different people have various views on the issue concerning death penalty extended to a criminal. Some argue that capital punishment should be granted to those who have done a horrible crime but also there are those people who say it is an unethical act and it goes against the human values (Steven 2008).
