Description

Resorts businesses have increasingly gained popularity among entrepreneurs with great evidence of business success.  Ideally, resorts have continually developed in response the changing consumer demands and preferences.  Today, there are different types of resorts that exist offering diverse products and services to different consumer segments (Mill, 2012). However, for the purpose of this paper, particular effort will be focussed to linking theory and practice in the area of resort management. As such, this task will demonstrate a deep understanding of the relationship between theory and practice in the field of resort management with the aim of achieving four core objectives: making a profit, developing an attractive and competitive product, developing an attentive and skilled workforce, and becoming a sustainable operation (Murphy, 2008).
