As part of my alcoholic anonymous project, it was mandatory that I attend an Alcoholic anonymous (AA) meeting. I dreaded the encounter in the prior week to the actual meeting day. This was partly because I had no idea on what to expect and the popular perception that the meeting is for the miserable people in the society who had resulted to alcoholism. The main concerns that were running through my mind included whether I would be required to speak in the meeting. The next one was whether I was going to face criticism from the members as the outsider who is only present in the meeting as part of my assignment.
