Quanah Parker was the son of Peta Nocona, a Quahadi and Comanche war leader, and Cynthia Ann who was a white woman captured during war and raised up as an Indian. The fact that the Cynthia’s family, the Parkers had very powerful people especially in pre-state-hood Texas, most of their activities concerning raids and war are among the most significant in the history of Texas. Quanah was a very proud man who believed in his capability and did not consider the stigma that surrounded the aspect of having a white parent. In the olden days, there was a very fierce conflict between the Native American communities and the entire American society. Quanah was a young medicine man and the last chief of the Comanches who helped in bringing about preservation of Native culture and helped on the assimilation of Native Americans into the American society.
