Organization and Teams
Since 1960s, there has been increased team building in organization. The changing nature of technology and the increasing competition in the market has led to more innovative ways of production which is cost cutting, innovative and deliver what the consumer want to the market in time. However, it is not always that organizations have achieved the expected with team work.
Team work has not worked as the magic word for many organization and some have been slowly reverting to their earlier ways of production. For example the Ford Motor company after facing fierce competition from Japan auto makers adopted team to design and produce new models to keep up with competition market (Druckers, 1992).
However it has reported serious problems and the gap between the company cars and Japanese cars continues to wide. This is one of the example which shows the though team work can recorded success from some company, it can spell doom for other which means there has to be appropriate understanding of the kind of team to be formed and how it is going to function.
