Task Description:
Beginning in Week 3, deliver, with a partner, a 20 minute oral presentation on the prescribed
weekly tutorial topic/question. Topics will be available on learning@griffith before Week One and
allocated during the first and second tutorials. Students present only once in the semester.
Students must offer an argument, cite evidence from peer-reviewed scholarly literature, and
present with audio-visual support. Students must submit a reference list and marking rubric to
their tutor before they begin their presentation.
Criteria & Marking:
Marking rubrics will be availiable for download from learning@griffith.

Write a 500 word (excluding reference list) Progress Report to update your tutor as to your
progress in completing the major Public Advocacy Campaign Strategy Report due in Week 12.
Your Progress Report should very briefly outline progress according to: Choice of Topic;
Campaign Aims & Objectives; Identifying Audiences; Identifying key messages; Identifying
communication channels. Your Progress Report should also include a reference list of peer-
reviewed journal articles and books used to justify your campaign choices. Harvard style is
preferred. The Progress Report is due Friday, Week 6.

Students who receive <50% for this assesment item may, if they wish, resubmit an amended

key messages; Identifying communication channels; Reference List. Harvard style is preferred.
Poor spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax and referencing will impair the Report's ability to
score high marks. The Report is due at the end of week 12.
