Promotion: My Store combines below-the-line and above-the-line promotions campaigning for its ‘Swap & Save’ and ‘Like Brands’.

ASSESSMENT TASK 2: DESCRIPTION
The journal is to assist in focusing on being entrepreneurial and gaining the skills set to be successful in business.
The journal gives focus by self-questioning your current traits, where they originate from and where need to
improve. It also informs on what complimentary skill sets you should look for to build a formidable business team. It
assists in inspiring by talking about a potential entrepreneurial hero you admire or wish to emulate and take a look
at why their business is successful by understanding their business model.
The journal also assists in understanding and developing the skills for discovering and understanding a market,
developing a value proposition that a market will want, learning how to build a business model towards developing
a successful entrepreneurial business and building a personal understanding of the lean agile process that is
creating successful businesses worldwide.
The Journal is a reflection of you and your entrepreneurial expectations at present.
It looks at your propensity at present, towards entrepreneurship (Global entrepreneurial Traits) and your reflection
on these. Then a discussion on what you believe you can bring to an entrepreneurial team and why a team would
need you; such as diligence, vitality, experience, creativity and skills. Also what you believe your team members
are bringing or could bring to your team. In this part you are to do a short expose of an entrepreneur who inspires
you and the company you admire. You will then suggest, using the business model canvas, what that company’s
business model is and using the tools given in the text, score and discuss that model.

4.2 Submission of assessment
The ability to adhere to deadlines is a highly desirable attribute that employers seek in our graduates. Right from the
beginning, new students should acquire the habit of meeting deadlines for their work, by organising their study time
appropriately. The following points apply to the submission of assessment
1. Extensions will be granted in cases of illness or personal issues (supported by strong evidence – at least medical
certificate/counsellor’s statement required). It is at the discretion of the subject coordinator/lecturer that extension s will
be granted for inescapable, unexpected, documented work commitments (provide documentation).
2. You must contact your lecturer well before the due date if you are likely to require an extension

3. Where no prior extension has been approved, late submissions will incur a penalty of 5% of the total mark
available per day including part-days, weekends and public holidays. Assessment tasks will generally not be
graded after 14 days past the due date.
4. Each Workbook must be submitted using SafeAssign through the LearnJCU website.
Note: The Learning, Teaching and Assessment Policy (5.22.3) outlines a uniform formula of penalties that
will be imposed for submission of an assessment task after the due date. This formula is 5% of the total
possible marks for the assessment item per day including part-days, weekends and public holidays.
After 20 days, the assessment item thus would be awarded 0 marks (i.e. 5% x 20 = 100% of total possible marks
in penalties).
4.3 Return of assessment
The marked assessment and feedback will be available online through LearnJCU no later than 21 days
after the due date (click on My Grades in the subject site menu).
