MICROBE AS A WEAPON IN BIOTERRORISM
Microbe can be defined as micro-organisms that are invisible to human naked eyes. According to The BioDefence Journal (2006) Microbes have been used in bioterrorism and biological warfare in the past and they have been grouped into three categories depending on different features of individual microbes. These categories are A, B and C. Those in category A are the most useful ones yet very dangerous when used in bioterrorism, where they are referred to as High Priority agents. Those in category B are less dangerous and useful, while those in category C are not that useful to bioterrorists (Chamberlain, 2001). There are four criteria for placing a microbe in category A. These criteria are based on their characteristics.
