The political and social debate about the medical use of marijuana has remained vibrant for a number of decades. Today, many states in the United States of America have passed laws facilitating access to marijuana for different medical conditions. However, the academia field remains divided on the medicinal value of marijuana, with researching findings documenting conflicting findings. Although the plant has been cultivated and consumed for a variety of reasons throughout history, it has elicited one of the long-running debates concerning its correct and legal use. This study will explore the medicinal use of the cannabis and recommend the way forward.
