Media Stereotyping of Arabs and Muslims in America
A stereotype is a regularly apprehended public idea about certain groups or individuals. Arabs and Muslims have for a long period of time pessimistically portrayed in America. The negative stereotype is apparent in jokes, songs, comic books, television and radio news, cinemas novels, Halloween masks among other modes of American common culture. The representations by the media, has had Muslims and Arabs in general portrayed in a negative image have for generations largely influenced how people think about people from the Middle East. America is an example of a country with this kind of influence.
