Company accused of firing over facebook post by Greenhouse
It is illegal to fire employees after they discuss working condition on any social sites. The employees have a right to form or join any unions and this is according to the National Labor Relation Act. Therefore union or nonunion workers are not to be punished by their employers for discussing working conditions among themselves. Despite this act a company still went ahead and fired its employee after posting a comment about her supervisor on Facebook. American Medical Response of Connecticut, ambulance service, fired an emergency technician, saying that she had violated one of the company’s policies that prohibit employees to depict the company in any way on any social network sites (Greenhouse, November 18, 2010).
