Rothwell and Sulliavan (2005: 37-66) defined organizational development as designed efforts or activities that are executed to enhance the management of an organization or a company. In this case, the interventions used in organizational development are intended to improve the performance of the organization and make sure that this performance is sustained. It should be noted that, organizational development is concerned with the governance of the employees and activities carried out in that organization (Golembiewski 2003: 233-256). Additionally, the internal monitoring, evaluations of decision making processes, financial systems, administrative systems, mobilizing resources, and human resource management among others are key issues that are considered in organizational development. In this case, presence or absence of bureaucratic structures is found in the administrative issues of an organization. Most importantly, the theory of management and organization development in very crucial in making sure that organizational goals and objectives are achieved and sustainability is ensured (Rothwell & Sulliavan 2005: 37-66).
