Trade is the lifeline of the world. According to economic theories, different regions are endowed with different resources, which means no region or country can survive alone without importing from others. Countries will specialize in producing what they are best endowed in and import from other countries what they are not endowed in. The export-import business is therefore the lifeline of the world. This project will look into this business with a case example of importing 1,000 kg of cheese from Normandy, France to a restaurant in 3 Deal A, Colombia, Sri Lanka. The project will outline the step by step guide into this process and justify the decision taken for each step. In addition, it will outline the risks faced by the exporter. It will also discuss transportation, packaging and costing.
