Description

The film Life and Debt, directed by Stephanie Black, explores the economic and social situation in Jamaica arising from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank policies. The film is critical of the structural adjustment policies that were conditions for Jamaica to access loans, and which had devastating effects on the economic and social situation. Through analysis of the economic and social situation, the film creates a connection between the deteriorating healthcare system in the country and the structural adjustment policies.
