Langston Hughes is one of the American artists who contributed a lot towards the development poetry and other writings in America, in the mid and late 20th century. Most of his work was based on the events during Harlem Renaissance era; which facilitated the development of cultural integration in American history. Basically, Hughes’ works were directed by various events which occurred during the Harlem Renaissance period. It is important to note that, Hughes’ parents were from different races, which triggered him to perceive the world as multi-cultural; without racial discriminations. As it has been revealed, most of Hughes writings are entirely rooted in the cultural discrimination between Native American and Black Americans. Certainly, Hughes works seemed to revolve round the nation building and the vents which prevailed during the time of the revolution of America (Whitaker 29).
