Karla Homolka, who was also known as Karla Leanne Teale, was a Canadian convict born in 1970 at Port Credit in Ontario Canada. Her convict attracted worldwide media attention after she was convicted of manslaughter. She entered a plea bargain in 1991 case where she was accused of raping two teenage girls, Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French, as well as raping and killing her own sister Tammy (Williams, 2004). She had presented herself as an innocent victim of circumstances and she struck a deal with the prosecutors, which was later came to be known as “Deal with the Devil”, where she pleaded guilty to the crime in exchange for a lenient prison sentence of 12 years (Burnside & Alan, 1995). However, there was a public outcry as videotapes that were obtained on the scene of crime portrayed her as an active participant in the whole crime. However, she was released from prison in 2005 and is said to have traveled to Antilles but later returned to Ontario.
