Is America in a Moral Decline?
Morality acts as a social fabric that holds the society together. The moral values represent the doctrine of internal values that define what is good and what is bad and therefore determines our patterns of relationship in the society. Morality is therefore likely to determine the way we are going to live with one another in order to enhance social tranquility and general cohesions of the society. Morality is an important aspect of any society which is inherited from generation to generation. Therefore a change in one aspect of our moral life is likely to be inherited in the next generation and therefore change the way we live. The morality of American society has been changing in various ways which in deed is a moral decline when viewed from the functioning of the society. This moral decline has led to various negative changes in the society which are likely to affect the coming generations. Moral decline in American society has brought about human suffering and loss of social identity. (Bork, 1996)
