Erickson stages of psychosocial development outlines the key changes that take place in individual life (Gross 48). They are stages that describe steps towards healthy development that human being pass from their infancy to adulthood. Throughout these stages, a person encounters and masters new challenges that assist them later in life. Erickson’s stages of psychosocial development builds on successful completion of one stage. If a person does not complete one stage, there is likelihood that problems associated with that particular stage will reappear later in life. Erickson stages of psycho-social development have impacted in my life in different ways. I can trace the course of my life to have followed all the seven stages outlined by Erickson’s psychosocial development.
