Google vs. China
With Google fed up with increase censorship in China, the company decided to leave the market and rerouted its services to servers in Hong Kong. Google felt that it was unable to offer its customers the best of services for which the company has been entrusted with. This means that the company would be losing its popularity and its ideal of free access to information. For Google, rerouting its serves was the best option but there is not double that this was a decision that was laden with political heavyweight. The action taken by Google was seen as a part of the escalating trade war between China and United States that is based on allegation of devaluation of the Yen although this decision was purely based on censorship of information. Before the company decided to leave the lucrative market, it should have first considered all the alternatives that were available because the decision to leave the market was obviously the last decision because it came with an impact not only to the profitability but also the credibility of the company.
