For a long time, women have faced a lot of discrimination from men and society in general. Women have been thought to have inferior brains, they have been given petite independence from their male counterparts, and they lack legal rights. In different parts of the world, women have been seen as less human beings compared to men. Various societies in the world have come a long way in recognizing and protecting women in their communities, but fundamentally women will always be different from men due to their ability to bear children. Since the sixth-century women have tried to fight for their rights, they requested that they should not be discriminated by gender (Connell, 2013). They have formed social and political movements to champion for their rights. These feminist movements have a common objective to achieve, personal, political and social rights for women around the world.
