Barney, M. C. & Max, J. E. (2005): The McMaster family Assessment device and clinical rating scale: Questionnaire vs. Interview in childhood traumatic brain injury. Brain Injury, Vol. 19(10): 801-809. This paper explored the two modalities which are used in family assessment on McMaster model of family functioning. It looked at the self reports question or the FAD and the clinical interview or the McMaster Structured Intervention for Families. The study compared these models in attempt to look into the possibility of the interchangeability of the two models. In the study there was a hypothesization of the correlation between the FAD and MCRS as applied in prospective and retrospective groups. The study was carried out in a sample of 50 children with traumatic brain injury from the prospective study and 72 children who consisted of 24 children with traumatic brain injury and 24 mild cases. The control group was 24 orthopedic patients with sever TBI.
