The sole purpose of this report is to evaluate BP (British Petroleum) ethical, social responsibility as well as sustainability aspects. This report will evaluate various strategies that BP has taken to ensure that it is ethical, performs its social responsibility duties and remains sustainable. Cases that have emanated recently on these aspects will be analyzed in line with the stakeholders’ theory.
British Petroleum commonly referred to by its initials BP, is one of the largest companies in the energy sector with operations in more than 100 countries in the oil and gas industry to be specific. BP offers their customers with various forms of petroleum for transportation, different types of energy for heat as well as lighting, and other petrochemicals that are used in making of various products such as paint and plastic items (BP, 2014). The company explores, produces, refines, markets and distributes oil and oil products in almost all corners of the world. In the recent past, the company has diversified its operations to venture in the green energy sector where it harnesses both wind and solar energy (BP, 2014).
