Electricity as it is known is source of power for both domestic and industrial purposes in many countries. More countries are becoming industrialized and the population rate is increasing every year. These exert pressure in the energy sector, thus the need for more electrical power to support this growth. Electricity can be defined as the physical phenomena occurring as a result of protons and electrons getting attracted to particles with opposite charges or through the repulsion of particles with the same charge. People also use the term electricity to describe the electric current, electric charge electrical energy. Electrical current describes the flow of electrical charge. It can be Direct Current (DC), which is a single direction flow or Alternating Current (AC), a current that frequently changes direction. Electric charge is the basic property of some subatomic elements. Electrical energy is a form if power present in an electric field or magnetic field. It is measured in joules. Electric power is the name given to the electrical energy produced and distributed. As countries use electricity, they are also working to see that less carbon dioxide (CO2) is released to the atmosphere. This gas is dangerous and can be a health hazard. It is one cause of global warming.
