Education | Education and Equity

see the attached

Education is classified as an essential need yet there are concerns about its accessibility, among the marginalised and the underprivileged. At the heart of these concerns is that education should rightly serve as the bulwark against the widening chasm between the haves and the have-nots, under-empowerment and ideological and material poverty, yet it has become a harbinger of inequality. It is against this backdrop that while developing countries are striving to make education accessible to all and sundry, developed countries are more interested in injecting and maintaining equity into education and learning system. The need for equity shall be appreciated in the scope of the ensuing discourse.
