Description
“Waiting for “Superman” is a documentary film which examines and criticizes the various ways through which education is failing learners and the development of the public education system in America over the years. It further investigates the function of charter schools and various reforms in the education sector, explaining how the factors are producing outcomes that may impact the future of education. The film director Davis Guggenheim does this by following five students (Bianca, Emily, Anthony, Daisy, and Francisco) as they strive to gain entry into a charter school. Through the children who attend the regular public education system, the director portrays the many struggles and triumphs they face due to the problematic system.
