Description

Integumentary system is affected by different diseases and disorders. The integumentary system maninly include the skin and its appendages like nails, hair, and others.  The skin is important to the body in several ways and diseases infecting the skin may have adverse effects on the whole body.  Diseases and injuries that affect human integumentary system include athlete’s foot, sunburn, skin cancer, and rash.  Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection that affects the skin leading to itching and flaking   of the infected areas. Skin burn leads to roughening of the skin due to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
