Cruise tourism can be defined as a luxurious type of travelling which is an all inclusive holiday package in a cruise ship and lasts for at least 48 hours (Dowling, 2006).  The cruise sector is the youngest of all tourism sectors but the fastest growing. Cruise tourism sector has developed from a small part of all the oceanic passenger industry to become one of the complex and favorite sectors for holiday lovers. This paper looks at the three major cruise line companies that have dominated the cruise tourism sector in the last few years. The paper starts with a brief description of the cruise ship industry and then an overview of Carnival Corporation, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Star Cruises.
