As defined by Maignan (18), corporate social responsibility entails all activities undertaken by a corporation to fulfill commitments to corporate social responsibility and support social causes. Despite its significant dominance in the present business environment, the concept of social responsibility dates only a few decades. Precisely, the term corporate social responsibility came into use in 1970s after the formation of many multinational corporations. In the present era of multinational corporations and globalization as well as increased media alert, the wider population is much conscious about the operations of corporate businesses (Carroll 45). In relation with this aspect, the issue of destructive and unethical practices which dominated the business sector is under keen focus in recent days.
