Constitutional law the criminal law and procedures is one of the most interesting areas of study in the last half of the century (Cornish and Ronald 7). Compared with other areas of law, criminal law and procedures has undergone various far reaching transformations due to the major decisions emanating from the Supreme Court led by three chief justices Warren, Burger and Rehnquist. Both Warren and Rehnquist made various decisions and rulings that not only sparked controversy from various stakeholders but also changed the legal landscape in criminal cases and procedures. This essay compares and contrasts the approaches to criminal procedure by the U.S. Supreme Court under both Chief Justices Earl Warren and William Rehnquist.
