For its international expansion, the Colgate-Palmolive Company has made extensive use of expatriate managers. Managers from one country would be used in founding the subsidiary, recruiting and training domestic workers, introducing and marketing the company’s products, and ensuring that the company’s products as well as methods are adapted to the local conditions. However, there may be problems that may arise from the aspect of working abroad especially regarding the taxation methods in foreign countries and expenses involved in moving from one country to the other. As a result of this, the company designed an international assignment policy. Looking at the policy it is clear that it has captured almost all the needs of an employee who is required to take up international assignments.
