Campaign Simulation Individual Report

$33.00

Executive Summary

The mission of our campaign team was to run a very successful campaign that would see our LNP candidate win in the Election Day.  We created a good candidate that resonated with the plight of most electorates. We formed a campaign team where members were tasked with performing different duties. In the course of the campaign, we mounted a media campaign that involved media release, advertisement, and other strategies aimed at winning back the electorates. However, we faced a number of obstacles like unwillingness of some team members to complete their roles. This report outlines that campaign, strategy, my contribution, and a personal reflection.

2. The first section discusses your theoretical understanding of the team’s overall campaign strategy, e.g. your understanding of rhetoric and the
role it played in your campaign. Cite scholarly sources to back up your claims.
3. The second section details your contribution across some or all of the following tasks: Media Releases, electorate research, position paper,
campaign launch, television ad pitch, community event, debate, final pitch.
4. The third (brief) section is your personal reflection on what you have learnt in this course, and on such issues as teamwork and the problems of
dividing labour. As your tutor is the only one reading your report, you can be frank about your experiences.
5. A fourth section – which is not included in the 2,000 word count – will be an appendix that includes the team’s budget and key media releases /
social media entries e.g. Twitter. Append up to 1,000 words (but no more).
IF YOU ARE ON THE NEWSPAPER TEAM:
Journalists, who do not campaign but instead report on it as part of the newspaper team, will submit a 2,000 word report. Journalists’ reports are
weighted at 70 per cent of course total. Journalists must write 2,000 words of scholarly research and reflection, also in five parts:
An executive summary (100 words)

up your claims.
2. Your contribution to / role on the newspaper team. Why did you write / edit / work the way you did?
3. Your personal reflection on what you have learnt in this course, and on such issues as teamwork and the problems of dividing labour.
As your tutor is the only one reading your report, you can be frank about your experiences.
4. An appendix (not included in the 2,000 words) of your best newspaper stories as published during the campaign. The stories should
total 2,000 words, no more or less.
The report must incorporate scholarly theory that rationalises your choices, with academic in-text citations (using the Harvard system). A
List of References, and appendices, must also be included. Reports which are sloppily written, or inadequately or incorrectly referenced,
will be marked down.
