California Hospital Medical Center started back in 1887 mainly serving residents from Los Angels (California Hospital Medical Center, 2009). Over the years, the hospital has grown to become one of the best community health care facilities in the area. The hospital has continued to offer compassionate and quality health care services. The hospital has changed with changing time increasing the number of expert staff and investing state of art technology in order to meet the growing demand for community health care services.
The hospital is a member of CHW (Catholic Healthcare West) which operate a chain of other hospitals that mainly serve the surrounding communities. The hospital is a private owned hospital mainly classified as community hospital that is modeled towards private health care system. The hospital is not affiliated to any university and hence it is not used for study and research purpose but mainly to serve the needs of the community. The hospital has a bed capacity of about 316 beds with an emergency department classified Level II trauma center. Currently the hospital offers comprehensive health care services with all departments found in other hospitals.
