Motivation is an important factor in improving performance of individuals.  The changing theories of human resource management have recognized the important role that individual motivation can play in improving their performance and consequently organizational performance.  While reading an article by SDCC Military Education Department (200) I realized that there are individual differences in motivation. Some individuals possess inner motivation while others are motivated through external rewards. The concept of motivation encompasses other related concepts which are of varying degree to individuals and therefore the differences in individual motivation.
