BORDER HAZARDS: AN OBSESSION TO BECOME UNHEALTHY

$30.00

Introduction

According to Richard Rodriguez, America is becoming unhealthy for both the natives and the immigrants as well.  Although American can be taken as a contemporary example of a modern state, it remains unhealthy country for its inhabitants. Apparently, health is not described in the medical term as per se, but it is a term that describes the general life in America. There are many people who continue to migrate to America to pursue their “American Dream” but this dream, though it may be achieved in terms of freedom and economic prosperity, has long been lost. People come to American to pursue a dream for change, not for the good but for the bad. Reimers (2005) assert that with the increased globalization, America has been the mother of global culture. While it has assumed moral superiority towards other countries, the moral superiority remains questionable. Young people flock American attracted by freedom, dollars, and change. They may get all these things in American but at the expense of their morals.
