Giving financial aid to the poor has been a long time debate. While it is seen as ethical to help the poor, it is seen as unethical by others. Some sees the universality of life in this world and therefore call for collective responsibility in approach sharing of resources while other attaches to individuals the right to be poor or rich.
Argument about helping the poor has taken the centre stage in the world political, economical and social arena between the developed and the developing world. The less developed and the developing nations have been pushed to the extremes of poverty while few developed world control the world economy and give hand outs in form of grants, loans and financial aids to the developing world. But this has not worked.
The poor nations continue to be poor and the rich nations continue to be rich. Unlike the given case of life boat ethics, the developed nations have a moral and ethical duty to help the poor nations by promoting equal access to world resource rather than controlling them and just giving handouts.
