The entry and success of ALDI in the Australian market has presented researchers with an interesting case study. The entry of ALDI came after the failure by other leading leadings like Wal-Mart failed to make progress in the market (Clifford). However, ALDI has been able to capture a sizable share of the Australian market, thanks to its model of operation that significantly reduces the cost of operation. Within a short period of time, ALDI has been able to capture 2.5% of the Victoria retail market 5% in New South Wales, and 1.4% of the Queensland market. However, the grocery market is among the rapidly changing markets and for the company to success and establishes its operations well in the market the company must take strategic management efforts.
