Internet has become one of the most transforming inventions in human history. In a spun of a few decades ago, internet has transformed society in unimaginable and unforeseen ways. Towards the end of the 20th century, internet connectivity had produced what Hauben and Hauben referred to as netzens, a word coined from Net citizens[1]. New terminologies came with internet: World Wide Web (WWW), HTML, Web pages, search engines, web server, URL, ISDN and the list goes on.

In 2009, the Oxford Dictionary added “unfriend” as part of the English words heralding a new era of how internet would transform language. Words that were known just to well as travel, trade, mail, toys, commerce, business, line services, books, have now  become e-trade, e-mail, e-commerce, e-books, e-toys, e-business on-line services, e-learning and so forth.  Almost in all sectors businesses are no longer usual. Economically, internet has brought development. Politically, there is much freedom and democratization process has gained a new impetus.

The social impact of internet is controversial since internet has created new social sites as well as decline in social behaviors. But most interestingly, is how internet has created an unrivalled platform for information exchange. Internet has abolished geographical barriers in a way that could not be imagined. Since it is few decade down the line since the invention of internet, there are to be more impact that will role down as the 21st century progresses.
