The movie Milk was produced in the year 2008 and was mainly based on fighting for the rights of gays in the United States. The plot has represented diversity especially in terms of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, and socioeconomic status. As the movie opens elements of race and ethnicity are witnessed as police raid gay bars and arrest all the patrons in 1950s and 1960s after the announcement to the press that there had been assassinations of Milk and Moscone. During this period of time, the United States was heavily challenged by the aspect of racism and ethnicity where non-whites were hindered to exercise their civil and constitutional rights.
Additionally, the aspect of racism has thrived in the American society for a long period of time despite efforts by the government and other bodies to fight it. In most cases, the non-whites are discriminated as there are some schools which are purely for the whites; they are marginalized and always associated with crimes and criminal activities. This aspect has negatively impacted the society since if it continues there will be no developments made by the politicians as they will be favoring people who similar elements of life.
