THE TOPIC IM DOING IS BULLYING 2-Minute Informative speech – intended to educate the class You many choose any topic. 1. 2-minutes long. 1. Points will be deducted for too short or too long. (5-second leeway granted either direction) 2. Begin strong. “Today, I am going to talk to you about …” or “OK, so…” are weak ways to begin a presentation. 3. Clearly, state your thesis and three supporting points in your introduction 4. Provide at least three points to support your thesis (why should we think or do what you want us to) 1. Each point must have at least one credible source supporting that point. (Wikipedia is not considered credible in academia.) 2. This is the “why should we believe you” support. 5. Provide interesting facts. (Not just your opinion.) 6. Restate your thesis and three points in your conclusion 7. End with a strong statement. (“So, yeah, that’s it.” is not a strong statement.) Your audience is the actual class. Base your presentation on the class size, age range, and interest levels. Grading o You will be graded by myself and your peers.  I will take peer comments into account combined with my appraisal of your presentation. o Your grade will encompass your delivery, speech content, length of speech, and other criteria. Please see the grading sheet below for details. o The class may provide immediate feedback as well as completion of Peer Review sheets.
